The Chicago Bears reached a three-year, $33.75 million D’Andre Swift extension on Friday, according to reports. The deal includes $27.5 million guaranteed, and its $11.25 million average annual value places Swift 14th among NFL running backs.
Swift had been entering the final year of a three-year, $24 million contract with Chicago.
In 2025, Swift posted career highs with 1,087 rushing yards and nine touchdowns over 16 games, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. He added 34 receptions for 299 yards and a touchdown.
Swift pairs with second-year back Kyle Monangai to headline head coach Ben Johnson’s run game. Monangai ran for 783 yards and five touchdowns on 4.6 yards per carry as a rookie in 2025. Chicago finished third in the NFL last season at 144.5 rushing yards per game.
A Pro Bowler in 2023 with the Philadelphia Eagles, Swift has averaged 1,023 rushing yards and 7.5 rushing touchdowns per season with Chicago from 2024 through 2025, along with 342.5 receiving yards per year during that span.
Swift, 27, began his career with the Detroit Lions after being selected 35th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia. He was traded to Philadelphia for the 2023 season before signing with the Bears.
Chicago opens the 2026 regular season on the road against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET.
