Ray Brown at 100 is more than an anniversary. Born Oct. 13, 1926, the master bassist helped shape modern jazz across nearly six decades, performing with Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker during the bebop revolution, anchoring the Oscar Peterson Trio for 15 years, and appearing on more than 2,000 recordings.
