The National Weather Service has canceled the high surf advisory for Hawaiʻi Island after surf along south-facing shores dropped below advisory thresholds.
High surf advisory update for Hawaiʻi Island
The advisory had covered south exposures across the Hawaiian Islands earlier Wednesday, but forecasters said evening observations showed easing surf.
Officials continue to remind beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers to follow guidance from ocean safety personnel and use caution around the water. Boaters should be aware that recreational surfers and bodyboarders may use harbor channels to reach nearby breaks.
