Ala Moana shark warning signs were posted at Ala Moana Beach Park on Wednesday afternoon after a surfer reported a close encounter offshore, according to Honolulu Ocean Safety.
Officials said the incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. near the popular Concessions surf spot. A woman told lifeguards she was lying on her board when a shark bumped her off.
She paddled to shore and notified lifeguards right away. Ocean Safety documented bite marks on her surfboard with photos.
At around 2 p.m., an HNL alert reported an aggressive, 10-foot tiger shark in the area.

Ocean Safety urged beachgoers to use caution and stay alert when entering the water. Anyone who sees a shark should leave the water calmly and inform a lifeguard or emergency responders.
Swimmers and surfers are advised to heed posted warnings and follow directions from Ocean Safety personnel.
