Boogie Henderson steps into larger role on Hawaiʻi O-line

Boogie Henderson is stepping into a bigger role on the University of Hawaiʻi offensive line as the Rainbow Warriors push through fall training camp, with the group focused on keeping one of the nation’s top returning quarterbacks upright.

Hawaii football training camp and offensive line outlook

According to team officials, Hawaiʻi is rebuilding its front five around preseason Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year Micah Alejado. Coaches say Henderson, a redshirt sophomore tackle, has emerged as a key piece as the unit forms its identity ahead of the 2026 season.

The line spent Monday honing protection schemes and timing, emphasizing communication and continuity as the depth chart takes shape. Staff noted that Henderson’s development has been a bright spot, pointing to his footwork and consistency in pass protection as areas of growth.

With a high-powered offense centered on Alejado, the Warriors are prioritizing clean pockets and run-game balance. Position coaches stressed that minimizing negative plays and penalties will be essential as the line gels through camp.

Henderson, who redshirted earlier in his Hawaiʻi career, has added responsibility at tackle as the Warriors look to solidify both edges and interior assignments. The staff indicated that competition remains open across the line, with reps distributed to build depth for the long grind of the season.

As fall camp continues, Hawaiʻi will refine protections and situational work, aiming to enter Week 1 with an offensive front capable of protecting Alejado and establishing rhythm early in games.
