A 39-year-old rider was seriously hurt in an H-2 crash Ka Uka this afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle near the northbound lanes by the Ka Uka Boulevard off-ramp. The incident was reported at 12:53 p.m., according to Honolulu emergency officials.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, struck the roadway and sustained serious trauma. Paramedics administered advanced life support at the scene, then transported him to an emergency room for additional treatment.
H-2 crash Ka Uka follows recent incident
Officials noted this was the second serious collision reported in the same area in recent days. On Saturday, nine people, including six children, were injured in a two-car crash near the Ka Uka Boulevard exit.
Drivers on Oahu are urged to use caution through the corridor as first responders continue to handle increased traffic incidents in the vicinity of the off-ramp. Police are also responding to other serious incidents on the island, including a recent Honolulu shooting suspect search involving gunfire near Kona Street.
