Hawaiʻi Island Agrifood Summit offers free 2-day program

The County of Hawaiʻi is inviting the community to the Hawaiʻi Island Agrifood Summit, a free two-day gathering designed to showcase progress toward a more resilient local food system and to connect residents with resources and initiatives across the island.

The 2026 Hawaiʻi Island Agrifood Summit will bring together farmers, researchers, policymakers, businesses, and community groups to share current research, highlight successful investments, discuss policy priorities, and celebrate the people and partnerships strengthening the island’s agrifood system.

“This two-day event showcases the innovation, collaboration, and investment helping to support local agriculture and improve food security,” Mayor Kimo Alameda said, encouraging residents to attend one or both days to learn how to help build a more resilient agrifood system.

The first day of the Hawaiʻi Island Agrifood Summit is scheduled in Honokaʻa on Friday, Aug. 14, followed by a second day in Waimea on Saturday, Aug. 15.
