Hawaii soccer shifts schedule, falls to Kansas State

Hawaii soccer adjusted its weekend slate, moving a planned Sunday home match against Kansas State to Saturday to stay ahead of Hurricane Lala’s approach to the islands. Playing on campus, the Rainbow Wahine opened brightly and netted their first goal of the season.

Senior Anuhea Aluli scored to put Hawai‘i in front, giving the Rainbow Wahine early momentum. Kansas State later responded and finished on top, handing Hawai‘i a loss to close the opening weekend.

The schedule shift was announced to ensure the contest could be completed before deteriorating weather, according to university officials. Hawai‘i will monitor conditions tied to Hurricane Lala as it looks ahead to its next fixture.

With heavy rain and strong winds forecast for portions of the state, the matchup was advanced by a day to prioritize safety for teams and fans. The Rainbow Wahine capitalized early through Aluli, though the Wildcats rallied to secure the result.

Additional updates on match times and any weather-related changes will be shared by the program as needed.
