Hawaiian Airlines Boston nonstop flights will begin in April, making the Honolulu-based carrier the only airline offering direct service between Honolulu and Logan International Airport, according to the company.
The state’s largest airline said it will operate the route five days a week starting April 4, more than a week ahead of Patriots’ Day on April 15. Boston is currently the largest U.S. city without nonstop service to Hawaii.
“The Commonwealth is excited to welcome Hawaiian Airlines to Logan Airport,” Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said in a statement, adding that the route connects travelers from Hawaii to the state’s economy and simplifies trips for New England residents headed to the Islands.
Hawaiian Airlines Boston nonstop schedule and fares
Hawaiian is offering introductory round-trip fares of $617 in the main cabin and $1,776 in first class. Tickets must be purchased by Sunday for travel from April 4 to 30. Blackout dates apply for trips to Hawaii from April 12 to 14, and to Boston from April 19 to 21.
Flights will depart Honolulu at 1:45 p.m. every day except Tuesday and Wednesday, arriving in Boston at 6 a.m. The return will leave Boston at 8:55 a.m. every day except Wednesday and Thursday, with Friday departures at 8 a.m. Arrivals into Honolulu are scheduled for 2:35 p.m. the same day, and 1:40 p.m. on Fridays.
Route milestone and market impact
The airline said the Boston to Honolulu leg will be the longest regularly scheduled domestic route in U.S. history at 5,095 miles. Hawaii Tourism Authority CEO George Szigeti noted that the greater Boston market already sends about 60,000 visitors to the Islands each year.
Hawaiian CEO Peter Ingram said the service will bring the Islands “closer than ever to Boston” by offering a new nonstop option.
Growing U.S. gateway network
Boston will be the carrier’s second East Coast city with nonstop service, joining its route to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, and the 13th U.S. gateway overall with nonstop Hawaiian service.
The airline’s full list of U.S. mainland gateways with nonstop service includes Boston, Las Vegas, Long Beach, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle.
