Oahu road closures were reported today as Tropical Storm Lala pushed high winds and heavy rain across the island, leading to flooding and numerous downed trees, according to Honolulu police.

Punahou Overpass: Police have reopened the westbound lanes of the H-1 at the Punahou Overpass. The eastbound lanes remain closed for now, authorities said.
Pali Highway and Nuʻuanu: Multiple fallen trees prompted a full closure of Pali Highway in both directions from Kamehameha Highway on the Kailua side to Waokanaka Street in Nuʻuanu. No motorists are allowed in the area until further notice.
Kalākaua and Seaside avenues: Lanes are closed near Kalākaua and Seaside after heavy flooding.
Kapiʻolani Boulevard and Kalākaua Avenue: Police and the Honolulu Fire Department responded near the Hawaiʻi Convention Center after a large fallen tree blocked all lanes of Kapiʻolani Boulevard. Lane closures were being set in the westbound direction from Kalākaua Avenue and Kapiʻolani Boulevard.
Kāneʻohe: Kahekili Highway is closed in both directions from Haʻikū Road to Hui Iwa Street because of a mudslide and downed trees blocking the roadway.
“Please avoid these areas if possible, but if you must travel, find alternate routes and please drive with caution and give as much space for responders to work safely and efficiently,” Honolulu police said in a social media post.
