Science Night at Keaʻau Armory invites families to explore hands-on STEM learning from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 30, according to Hawaiʻi County’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
The free gathering will offer activities focused on science, technology, engineering and math, including interactive experiments, space and astronomy exploration, and chances to connect with local STEM groups. Organizers say the evening is designed to provide fun, educational experiences for all ages.
What to expect at Science Night at Keaʻau Armory
The county is partnering with Starbase Hawaiʻi and the Hawaiʻi Science and Technology Museum to present the event. A number of community partners will lead activities, including Gemini Observatory, Subaru Telescope, the U.S. Army National Guard, the Big Island Amateur Radio Club, the University of Hawaiʻi Institute for Astronomy, the Hawaiian Volcano Education & Resilience Institute, and the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems.
The venue, Keaʻau Armory, is at 16-512 Volcano Road in Keaʻau.
Organizers encourage families to also explore other educational events, such as those highlighted in Top things to do on Big Island: July 31–Aug. 6 highlights, to continue engaging with local STEM and cultural activities around the island.
