President Donald Trump appeared to show off a new look Friday with Trump darker hair as he stepped off Air Force One in New Jersey, setting off a wave of social media chatter ahead of a weekend at his Bedminster golf club.
Photographers captured Trump arriving at Morristown Municipal Airport with what looked like a noticeably deeper, more brunette shade than his familiar blond, leading to a flurry of posts and memes.
“Trump becoming a brunette was definitely not on my 2026 bingo card,” one user wrote on X. Another asked, “Is he getting a new hair color?” Others chimed in with lines like, “Seems brown is the new blonde,” and “Trump is now a brunette.”
Over the weekend, Instagram posts by internet personality Michael Solakiewicz showed Trump golfing in a red hat that obscured most of his hair, making it unclear whether the darker tone persisted.
The renewed scrutiny arrived days after Trump rejected claims that he wears a wig, pointing to blustery conditions at a 2024 campaign rally in Ohio. “I don’t wear a wig,” he said Wednesday, adding that if he did, the wind would have quickly revealed it, according to The Hill.
Trump has seldom made visible changes to his appearance while in office. In 2019, similar speculation followed an appearance with what looked like a slicked-back style during a surprise visit to a Virginia church. That look was short-lived, and he spoke to reporters later the same day with his usual hairstyle.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

While the new photos prompted fresh debate over the former president’s signature look, there was no confirmation of a permanent change. For many online observers, the images were enough to keep the conversation going through the weekend as Trump spent time at his Bedminster property.
